Performance brake pad replacement precautions

The performance brake pads of the car will wear normally during driving. When it is worn to a certain extent, it needs to be replaced. When replacing the brake pads, we must first check whether the brake pads purchased are produced by regular manufacturers, that is, products. Whether the integrity of the packaging, the anti-counterfeiting mark and the packaging mark are consistent with the marks on the brake pads, and whether the product model matches the content of the certificate.

Before lifting the vehicle, the cover of the brake oil should be opened and the tire screws should be loose. If simple jack support is used, the jack should be supported and the wheels that do not replace the brake pads should be reinforced. Remove the tire, loosen the fastening screws of the brake caliper, and check the screws and caliper sliding guides to remove the dirt and oil on the top and grease the oil. Remove the old brake pads, check the degree of wear on the brake discs, and whether the grooves are grooved. Serious wear (3mm deep on one side) should be replaced with a new brake disc, otherwise it will speed up the wear of the newly replaced brake pads, and the direction of the brakes will be shaken, the braking force is too small, and noise is likely to occur.

Car brake failure solution

If there is a bad brake effect, we should judge according to the brake pedal stroke and the feeling and stability when the pedal is depressed. When the brake is maintained, if the height of the pedal slowly drops, the possible cause is: a certain part of the brake pipe is broken, the joint is poorly sealed, the master pump or the cylinder piston is poorly sealed, and the oil return valve and the oil discharge valve are defective. Solution: First step on the brake pedal to observe the presence of brake fluid leakage. If the outside is normal, check the sub-pump or master cylinder fault. When the brakes are continuously applied for several legs, the height of the pedal is slightly increased and the elasticity is felt, indicating that air is infiltrated into the brake pipe.

Brake system maintenance method

Generally, we should check the performance brake pads once for 5,000 kilometers. Never replace the brake pads until the friction material has been worn out. The brake pads that have reached the limit of use must be replaced. Even if they can be used for a period of time, the braking effect will be reduced and the driving safety will be affected.

Also be careful when replacing the performance brake pads, do not damage the sub-pump and calipers. It is necessary to use a special tool to push the brake cylinder back. Do not use too much force. Otherwise, the brake caliper guide screw may bend and the brake pad may be stuck. After the replacement is completed, check it again. Be sure to step on the brakes to eliminate the gap between the brake pads and the brake disc.
