  Front axle bending and twisting inspection and repair


  1. The front axle is bent vertically. Check whether the two leaf spring seats are in the same plane, and the standard value of the flatness is not more than 0.25mm. The measurement is carried out according to the steps during the inspection. The specific size can be judged whether it is bent vertically according to the model of the front axle. If bent, correct or replace the front axle.


  (1) When inspecting, a new kingpin can be inserted. If the upper and lower pins of the loose or kingpin hole are worn and flared, repair or replace the front axle.


  (2) When inspecting, insert a new kingpin into the kingpin hole to measure the angle of the kingpin hole inward. If it does not match the standard angle, it should be corrected.


  (3) If the end face of the main pin hole is worn 2mm, it should be repaired.


  (4) If there is a crack in the front axle when the front bridge is found, or if the spring seat of the steel plate is worn down, it should be replaced.

  2. The front axle is bent or twisted horizontally. Check whether the center line of the two main pin holes of the front axle and the center line of the two leaf spring seat holes are on the same longitudinal section of the front axle. The standard value of the center of the pin hole (upper end) should not exceed ±15'.


  (1) When checking the horizontal bending, the front axle can be horizontally clamped on the vise, and the knuckle pin can be inserted into the main pin hole of the front axle. At the upper end of the two main pins, a string is pulled through the center, from above the front axle. Observe that when the string is aligned with the center hole of the two leaf spring seats, the front axle is not bent horizontally. Otherwise, it needs to be calibrated with a press at room temperature.


  (2) When checking the twist, observe from the side of the two kingpins (perpendicular to the center plane of the two leaf spring seat holes). If the two kingpins are perpendicular to each other, the front axle is not twisted. Otherwise it needs to be corrected.
